VTG/ ANTIQUE L E Smith Pinwheel&Stars13.25PUNCH BOWL 21.5UNDERPLATE 7.5 STAND

Magnificent EAPG punch bowl is a scene-stealer on any table or buffet. This is the large (13.25) size. These were made in one or two smaller sizes, plus a gargantuan 14 version.

It was re-issued as "'Pinwheel and Stars" by LE Smith in the early midcentury period, and finally, reproduced by Indiana Glass in the 1970s. Whatever its provenance, this is a glamorous, imposing piece of cupped glassware with swirling allover pattern and a dramatic sawtooth edge. It is in primo vintage condition. I find no cracks, chips, staining or clouding. It balances beautifully and makes a gorgeous setting for a fruit salad, gazpacho or ambrosia if you are not in punch-serving mode. There are many accoutrements available for this piece, including cups, clips, ladle, pedestal and underplate. These are fun to hunt down, but the bowl and underplate are eminently usable, complete serving pieces on their own.
