United Cut Glass Hobstar & Fan in Arches 2 Part Egg Nog Bowl, Antique ABP 8 1/2

Egg Nog Bowl with Base; Small Punch Bowl; Fruit Bowl on Stand. Huge Hobstars, Fans, Prisms with Bars, Notched Prisms, Cane, Flat Stars. Antique American Brilliant Period (ABP) Cut Glass. Measurements: Bowl: 8 1/2" diameter and 4 3/8" high.

Base: 5 3/4" outer diameter and 4 3/4" high. Weight, prepackaged: 5 lbs 12.2 oz. Condition: The bowl rim has one tooth with some minor chipping which doesn't effect the height or shape of the tooth.

The exterior cuts on the bowl have some fleabites and small nicks (largest 1/8", majority smaller then 1/16"), most notable on the fans of one side and around the square cut on the bottom center. The base is free of chips, cracks and fleabites. There are no notable marks or scratches from use or storage. The bottom has light shelf wear as expected. The cuts are well planned and executed. The glass is crystal clear with great clarity, superb resonance and a slight green glow under UV light. The pattern can be found in a 1909 advertising spread by United Cut Glass Co. Little is known about the company beyond information gleaned from advertisements. It's a fantastic pattern, beautiful shape and quality blank. It will make a great addition to an ABP collection.
