Imperial Hobstar & Arches 11 pc Punch Set, Antique EAPG 1909, Bowl Stand Cups
This listing is for an Antique, Imperial Pattern 302 Punch Set including Bowl, Stand and nine (9) Punch Cups in Crystal. Line 302 was introduced by Imperial circa 1909 and is also known as Hobstar Flower, Hobstar and Arches and Winner. The pattern features large hobstars in pointed ovals created by raised notches with fans directly below and fine cut pointed ovals at each side creating a flower like design. Between each Hobstar Flower are four hobstars in arches. The rim of the bowl is sawtooth. The cups and stand continue the design of the bowl. The feet of the cups are ground. All the pieces have four mold seams. The designs are sharp and the glass has a wonderful glow under UV light.
It's a beautiful set of EAPG (Early American Pattern Glass) and rarely found as a set in such superb condition. It will be a centerpiece of any curio.
The bowl measures 10" in diameter and 5 3/8" high. The base measures 4" in diameter at the top, 5 3/4" in diameter at the base and 4 high. The cups measure 3 1/8" in diameter and 2 1/8" high. Combined the set weighs 9 lbs 5.6 oz.
The bowl and base are in wonderful conditions free of chips, cracks and with no fleabites we could find even on the many angles and designs. The ground feet of the cups do have some nicks and chips as one would expect from the grinding process and years of storage. The glass is fantastically clear except one punch cup which has a light haze. All the pieces have a nice glow under UV light. There are no notable marks from use or storage though there are some strawmarks and air bubbles as found in most antique glass. It's a great set and will make a wonderful addition to an Imperial or EAPG collection. Pictures are of the item you will receive. If additional photos or information is desired please message us.
