EAPG L E Smith Daisy and Button Punch Bowl with18 Cups

You are purchasing a punch bowl and 18 cups (a plastic ladle is included) manufactured by the LE Smith Glass Company. The punch bowl and cups are in what is known as the Daisy and Button pattern.

This item was discontinued in 1972. This is truly an impressive example of pressed glass. The punch bowl is heavy and thick (7/16 inches thick).

It is crystal clear in color and the pattern is deeply pressed into the glass. At first glance, it would be easy to think that this item was actually cut glass. (It is not) A great show piece to have on the table for any occasion. Note: In some of the pictures the punch bowl may appear to have a greenish/yellow tinge.

This is due to the thickness of the punch bowl and my using floodlights to provide light for the camera. This resulted in a prism effect which distorted the color of the light source. The punch bowl is crystal clear. Size: Punch bowl: 12 1/4 inches diameter, 8 1/2 inches tall. This punch bowl is more than 40 inches in its circumference. Cups: 3 inches diameter, 2 1/8 inches tall. I have been collecting EAPG glass, depression glass, and other types of glass for a number of years. I have recently decided it is time to sell a large part of this collection. For example: Fostoria American, Anchor Hocking, May Fair, Federal Glass, Sharon Cabbage Rose, Imperial Glass, Candlewick etc. My items are available for sale in an "As Is" condition. This means the glass pieces were manufactured between 1890 and 1960 unless stated otherwise (most pieces were manufactured from 1900 to 1940). In many cases the quality of the glass does not equal what is being manufactured today. The manufacturing methods were not modern. The result of these manufacturing methods is they item may have. These items are not usually found in modern glass.

These are to be EXPECTED in vintage glass. Also this glass was probably used at the kitchen or dining room table, it was then washed. It may have been taken in and out of the ice box or refrigerator. The results of these actions are that many of the pieces may exhibit surface scratches or other type of wear discontinuities. I will attempt to identity any discontinuities found in the glass, by describing the discontinuities and if possible showing them in my pictures (not always an easy thing to accomplish).

I will do my best to describe the glass and identify discontinuities. It is possible I might describe a condition different than you would describe it. It is also possible in some cases we would both look at things differently.

Look at the pictures carefully. Utilize the blowup the zoom feature. In doubt ask a question.
