C1820 Anglo Irish / American Early Sandwich Glass Mold Blown & Cut Punch Bowl

A fabulous Federal era mold blwn and wheel cut decorated 8 by 11 3/4 inch oval punch or serving bowl! Probably of Anglo Irish origin, but maybe an early American Sandwich glass piece, this circa 1820 large serving bowl was hand blown with a polished pontil before the engraved decoration was added. The clear glass is full of bubbles and impurities.

A sunburst or star cut decoration was added around the polished pontil. Tthe folded blown rim was polished and the sides bear pressed/molded and cut decoration. There is a 1/8 inch flash or interior bruise just under the rim and a couple of fleabites to the cut decoration. Otherwise excellent condition on this 200 year old beauty.
