The piece consists of a transparent crystal-glass bowl inserted in a silver-plated pewter frame with matching lid. Total height is approximately 34 cm. The metalwork features stylized irises at the base, clearly rendered in relief and demonstrating WMF's well-documented expertise in metal craftsmanship from the period. The bowl has two large handles with open, flowing lines consistent with Jugendstil aesthetics.
A matching removable lid with an ornate but practical handle completes the piece. Condition of the silverplate is particularly noteworthy, presenting a well-preserved, bright appearance. Only minor signs of age, such as minimal surface wear, are visible upon close inspection, entirely appropriate to the object's age.Glass insert is intact and without chips.
