Also please notice the size of the bowl is more prominent and the base is small for the size of the bowl proportionally. If the proportions might bother you than this bowl is not something you will like. I found the smaller base quite unique and it makes the bowl really stand out, regular punch bowls that base would be a little wider on most.
I think this shape and how pronounced the bowl is on the smaller base makes it a great centerpiece that fits on more spaces. Measures top rim is 8-1/2" wide, but the bowl is 10" wide and 5-3/4 deep. With the base it is 11 tall. Base is 4-3/4 wide at the bottom. (regular punch bowls are about 12" wide at the top rim and the base would be about 7" wide to give you an idea of the dimensions vs this one). This was a popular design in the later half of the era. Harvard is the generic name for the cutting design, each company filled in the "hobs" how they wanted with alternating single stars, crosshatching & Hobstars being most commonly used. Companies like Bergen, Pairpoint and even the Canadian Houses made this design. This is a gorgeous bowl. It has a little typical roughness on the peg that goes into the base which is common from contact with the base, but no chips/chunks out of it.
The top rim of the bowl may have some minor invisible roughness around the inside of the rim, but I see nothing visible or chips from the rim (teeth are all the same shape the way they were cut). I did find a tiny fleabite nip in the pattern on the underside of the bowl at the pattern edge that no one will ever see. That being said the bowl is in good condition..The base looks good top and bottom. It is an amazing bowl and displays beautifully. This is for 2 reasons- We sell antiques / vintage goods, therefore they are used, I provide photos of the exact items and not stock pictures so you can always see the exact item you will get.
