Up for your consideration today is a spectacular depression glass cut punchbowl set that includes the punch bowl, the full size matching platter and 12 punch cups. Our research on this particular punchbowl set shows that it was made by U. Glass during the Edwardian Period at about ca. 1910 so this is a true antique.Back in those days people knew how to throw a party and exceptional, highly detailed pieces like this were used. The pattern of this punchbowl set is Pinwheel and Stars with a Slewed Horseshoe pattern and a Sawtooth lip. While commonly referred to as the Slewed Horseshoe Pattern this set is also known as The Radiant Daisy Pattern. PLEASE NOTE: While it is quite common to see these from manufacturers like L. Smith did not have the pattern on the bottom of their cups making this set much older and quite easy to identify.
Every piece is in very good antique condition with a few scratches that are very difficult to see and is normal with these items because they were actually used. Most EAPG (Early American Pressed Glass) has some form of irregularities from air bubbles to straw lines but nothing that would require a separate description on this beautiful set. The approximate measurements of the bowl are 15" x 7 1/2" , the glass platter measures 22", and the cups are 2 1/2" tall and 4 1/2 at their widest point.
The set weighs in at an incredible 33llbs complete. Due to eBays limit of 12 photos, I have tried to get as much detail as possible but please ask for more images if there is a particular angle or detail that you would like to see. Please also ask any questions and were always happy to help. The item "US Glass Slewed Horseshoe Radiant Daisy Pinwheel Punch Bowl Set with 12 Cups" is in sale since Sunday, January 31, 2016.
