This listing is for a very vintage King's Crown punch bowl, punch bowl base, and 12 punch cup set made with the classic ruby flash decoration on the tops of the pieces. This set was made by. Tiffin Glass Company in the 1940s. The 12 punch cups are in excellent vintage condition. One has a small amount of loss of the ruby.Flash decoration, but this is not bad (see Photo #3). The cup is quite usable, and will display nicely as well. The punch bowl base is heavy, and measures 7.5 inches in height. You can use the punch bowl set with or without this base - totally your preference. It might also be possible to use the open section of the base as a separate matching container to hold a bouquet to match your decor. This punch bowl is NOT a small bowl!
This bowl measures 16 INCHES ACROSS, and is a heavy one! The punch bowl does have a few blemishes as follows. The punch bowl has one very slight, thin scratch in the ruby-colored flashing which measures about 1 inch long (see photos #9). In the same photo to the left and at about the 2 1/2 inch mark on the measuring tape, you can see a small "chigger bite" which measures less than 3/16 of an inch across. Also in the seam in this same region, there is an area where the hot, liquid glass did not pour smoothly.
This area measures about one inch by one inch. This area is labeled #3 in photos #10 and #11.
In photo #12, it is measured by the measuring tape. Just above this area, you can see the beginning of what I can best describe as "uneven pouring" of the ruby flash color. This area measures about four inches in length. Neither of these areas are very noticeable. As these areas are a result of the manufacturing process, it will not affect the value of the punch bowl. This area looks much larger in the close-up photos than it does in person as this is such a large punch bowl! Photo #9: This photo shows the areas discussed above. These areas are located close together in a small region of the punch bowl. This would be very easy to camouflage by merely turning the bowl. Photo #10: The angles of this photo very closely resemble Photo #9 - it is not an exact duplicate, but is very similar.
You can see the above-described items with numbered "yellow lines" to aid in description. Yellow line #1: The one inch long thin scratch. Yellow line #2: The 3/16 chigger bite. Yellow line #3: The area at the seam where the hot, liquid glass did not quite pour smoothly. Yellow line #4: The four inch area of uneven application of the ruby flash color.
This photo represents how this area looks as you move further away from the punch bowl. This punch bowl has the occasional small "straw mark", and there are also some scattered small bubbles in the glass as well as a few tiny specks of dirt which did not mix well at the time of manufacture. This is very common in vintage glassware, and will not affect the value of the pieces.
His is one very hard-to-find Kings Crown patterned punch bowl set by the Tiffin Glass Company in excellent vintage condition - it is almost 90 years old! CONVENIENT, EASY ACCESS TO INTERSTATE 44! CLOSE TO TULSA HARD ROCK CASINO!
