Straus Macy's American Brilliant Period ABP Cut Crystal Punch Bowl & Stand Sweet
Reat pieces / punch bowl and stand. It is identified by signature in the piece, in the book. I could not find a signature though the cutting is exact.
Three sections of round arches with three rows of hostars, and panels with mitre cut and lots of cross-hatching on diamond points. The glass blank is great with an exciting pattern, however the actual cutting technics are not top tier. Bowl is 6" tall by 10" across.
Base measures 5.5" tall, 3 3/4" across opening and 7 5/8 across the base. I inspected the whole set under a bright light. Two teeth have clear smooth chips that are deceptively hidden. Otherwise 3 or 4 little nicks on the teeth - minuscule. One hobstar in the zipper panel has a couple little fleabites. The insert round of the bowl has a thin 1/4 chip on it and one other nick. The base has 5 teeth with tolerable chips that do not affect the sitting of the bowl. 3-4 other small teeth nicks.The ring around the base is in great condition. There are two tiny nicks on collar. I noted 3 pinhead nicks in base pattern, as well as a small air bubble, an inclusion, and a small bruise chip on one diamond point. The inner rim of the collar appears to have been nicely restored by clear, even grinding. I could only submit 12 pictures but I have several others of all the teeth.
